Salt Spring Literacy was founded by a group of volunteers at a grass roots level in partnership with the Salt Spring Public Library and Continuing Education, and in consultation with School District 64 and Salt Spring Community Services.

  • Incorporated under the Society Act of Canada
  • Received funding from Legacies 2010 & Literacy Now
  • Hired a part time Literacy Outreach Coordinator
  • Contracted a second person to coordinate the Tutor Program
  • Moved in to our current office in the little white house beside the Salt    Spring Public Library, at 125A McPhillips Avenue.
