OUR VISION
To enhance literacy support services to the community of Salt Spring Island
OUR GOALS
- Centralize community literacy support services
- Provide literacy services for adults
- Provide support for family learning and literacy
 OUR HISTORY
Salt Spring Literacy was founded by a group of volunteers at a grass roots level in partnership with the Salt Spring Public Library and Continuing Education, and in consultation with School District 64 and Salt Spring Community Services.
- Incorporated under the Society Act of Canada
- Received funding from Legacies 2010 & Literacy Now
- Hired a part time Literacy Outreach Coordinator
- Contracted a second person to coordinate the Tutor Program
- Moved in to our current office in the little white house beside the Salt Spring Public Library, at 125A McPhillips Avenue.
