Youth! Submit a funny limerick for a chance to win a $50 gift card

Friday, March 17 is St. Patrick’s day and Salt Spring Literacy is celebrating with a limerick contest for youth ages 6-18.

Limericks submitted will be entered into one of three categories based on the youth’s age:

– Age 6-11

– Age 12-15

– Age 16-18

The winner of each category will receive a $50 gift card to Salt Spring Island Books.

Contest rules:

1. Limericks must be received by March 17, 2023.

2. Vulgar submissions will be rejected.

3. Submissions must be original and written by the youth without assistance from adults or artificial intelligence (AI) software.

4. Word choice, rhyming pattern, and humour will be factors in determining the winners.

5. Only one submission per person.

6. Submissions must include the youth’s name, age, and contact information.

7. Submissions will not be returned.

8. Winners must agree to have their works published on the Salt Spring Literacy website and may be asked to perform their work.

9. Decisions of the contest panel are final.

Drop off your limerick to the Salt Spring Literacy office or submit via email by March 17, 2023!
