Office

Office

We recommend before choosing to visit that you contact us ahead of time. Our office has an occupancy max of 4 people, including staff. Getting in touch first allows us to reduce the wait time for visitors.

If you do choose to visit our office or use the computer lab, visitors are asked to follow these protocols:

  • Sanitizing hands upon entrance.
  • Wearing a face mask.
  • Being respectful of and following social distancing rules.

Office services including exam invigilations are still available.

Computer Lab

Computer Lab

Our computer lab has been reduced to one user at a time. We ask that users follow our office protocols (see Office). Public access computers are sanitized daily as well as after each use.

The computers are available for use during business hours, however we have set a time limit of 30 minutes if multiple people are in need of computer use. If you have been there for 30+ minutes, we will give you 10 minutes to finish up your session.

Tutors and Learners

Tutors and Learners

Tutors and learners must book their sessions ahead of time before using our office space, as well as to book them outside of office business hours. This is to ensure there are no overlapping sessions, as well as minimizing walk-in traffic interruptions.

All participants must follow our protocols posted inside the office, and sign a consent form before their session.

Before tutors and learners can use our office space, they must both sign a consent form and go over office protocols (see Office). We ask that both parties wear a mask during sessions. Face shields are provided to tutors so they may use those instead.

Books & Bling

Books & Bling

Due to Covid19, our 2020 Books & Bling event has been cancelled. We will not be taking donations for books at this time, but are able to take your bling donations. Our volunteers have organized a drop-off bin for jewellery at Island Savings Credit Union which will be available until the end of October 2020. We are happy to take your jewellery donations throughout the year at our Salt Spring Literacy office, located at 125B Rainbow Road.

A date has been announced for the 2021 event.
