With consideration for the health and safety of our volunteers, staff, donors and the general public, Salt Spring Literacy has decided to put off book collections and drop-offs this summer.

Instead, you can drop off your books at the Farmer’s Institute from November 6 to 10th. Because of this change, our sale date this year will now be the weekend of November 12.

People can continue to safely use the bling drop-off bins to donate their jewelry at Island Savings, or the Literacy Society’s office (100 – 125B Rainbow Road), during office hours. Jewelry donations will also be accepted at the Farmers’ Institute between November 6 and 10th.

We want to thank everyone who has volunteered or donated books or jewelry in the past, or has attended our beloved annual fundraiser and community event at the Farmers’ Institute. We look forward to welcoming you back after a one-year hiatus this fall.

Books & Bling is a vital fundraiser for the Salt Spring Literacy Society as it makes literacy programs that are not covered by annual grants possible.

Past volunteers will be contacted in late summer/early fall – we hope you’ll help us again this year.

If you’ve never volunteered for this fun event, and would like to, please contact the Literacy Society office at info@saltspringliteracy.org / 250-537-9717.
